Reopening of Auckland Art Gallery

Auckland Art Gallery
Flower Chandelier by Choi Jeong Hwa
Thought I'd show a couple of photos from my visit to the Auckland Art Gallery this afternoon.  It has just reopened after a major upgrade lasting several years and as the photos show, it drew crowds today.  I was particularly interested in the 15 pieces donated by American philanthropists, Julian and Josie Robertson, which include works by Cezanne, Fantin-Latour, Gaugin, Picasso, Matisse and Salvador Dali.   I love the work of Henri Fantin-Latour, so it was great to see up close his painting, Vase des Roses - just beautiful.
